Sunday Afternoon with the Kozlowski's
Since I am in Chicago helping Kim with the new baby, I was lucky enough to be around to attend Kyle's brother, Kelin's, homecoming talk. Julie and Glen invited us over after to spend the afternoon. The kids had lots of fun... Here is Avery in Glen's Bear helmut. A future football player?
Trey was also trying on several other helmuts that Glen had around the house. And he even got to throw the football back and forth to Glen. History in the making... getting tips from a real football hero.
Glen showed the kids his fish pond and Avery named each one. Then Kyle brought out the food to feed them.
Avery wanted Uncle Kyle to teach her how to play golf. Trey, of course, wanted to be a part of that too. They started inside....
And ended up in the back yard. Needless to say, a good time was had by all. Thanks Julie and Glen for letting us spend the day with you! We all had a great time.

The "Toy Story" kid
Trey loves the movie "Toy Story". On Saturday, we happened upon a garage sale. You will never guess what we found. And we had to buy every single one of them. (And believe it or not, I found a half dozen more little figurines that I missed when I took the picture!) His birthday was on Friday and his "Nana" got him the big "Buzz Lightyear" and now we had the rest of the crew to go along with him. He is in "Toy Story" heaven. Wouldn't it be great to be 3 again? Gotta love this kid!
Mom, this blog's for you!

Birthday Fun!
Because I am in Chicago on my birthday helping Kim, who just had a baby, I didn't expect anything special to be done. Face it, when you have just had a baby you are tired and need to be pampered and pampering someone else is just not in the cards. But Kim, being the thoughtful daughter that she is, decided to pamper me anyway. First there was lunch out at "On the Border" (just the 3 of us- Kinsey of course came with) while Rand offered to stay home with the kids. Thanks Rand!
Then there was this yummy cake!
Trey and Avery helped blow out the candles!
Trey really enjoyed his piece of cake!
And Avery was savoring every bite!
Introducing Grandchild #6
It is such an overwhelming feeling watching your family grow. As a woman, you marry your sweetheart and then begin your family. We were blessed with 3 beautiful daughters. These precious daughters marry their sweethearts and begin families of their own. This year we will be having grandchild number 5, 6, and 7. Ty was born to Mindy and Dave in March. Kinsey was born to Kim and Rand the last day of May. And Stacey and Kyle will introduce their sweet baby girl sometime this October. What a blessed plan to come to the world in families. I am so proud of each of my girls and the great moms they are and will be. This is Kinsey a few hours after she was born....isn't she beautiful!
Kim's doctor told her to go to the hospital on Tuesday... she told her she was going to have her baby. So, she called me and I hopped on a flight to Chicago. Unfortunately, when she got to the hospital, the doctor there sent her home and said, no baby today! So, Kim and I got to spend a few days together hanging out! Which made it very nice when she went into labor Sunday morning and had to go the hospital again, cuz I was there to take care of Avery and Trey. This time, the doctor said, yes! Here is Miss Kinsey getting ready to leave the hospital.
Memorial Day in California!
Spending time with family is such a great thing to do. So, since we had a 3 day weekend Lynn and I, along with Stacey and Kyle, decided to head down to California and see my mom and dad. Stacey had a few requests for the trip. This was the first one.... eating at Duke's! It is the best!!!! Thanks to Josh for a yummy meal!
This was my request! It is the best dessert ever! I think it is called Hot Lava Pie or something to that effect. It has macademia nut ice cream on a chocolate cookie crumb crust and lots of whip cream and hot fudge sauce on the top! Yum!
This was one of Stacey's other requests... some time on the beach! Ahhhhh, isn't life grand when you can soak up some rays on the beach? The only thing that would have made it better is if the water had been the Atlantic and warm instead of the Pacific and cooooold! Oh well, we can't have everything.
Busy, Busy, Busy!
After coming home from Iowa, things have been busy, busy, busy! There was yard work to catch up on... since the snow had finally melted. There was work to catch up on, since I had been gone. And there were many more things to get done. One of the things that kept me busy was preparing for my garage sale. I have only had one other garage sale and now I remember why Deseret Industries is my friend. Here is what my garage looked like while I was trying to get it organized!
